EXTENSIVE YACHT MODIFICATION COMPLETED IN 2011: The hull was originally laid up in 1978 for a heavily-built fishing troller, but from 1992-present the boat has enjoyed a complete and remarkable yacht conversion. Structural modifications include the addition of a bulbous bow, a large aft cabin, a ballasted keel, active stabilization and a new cabin top and flybridge. The interior of the boat was completely gutted and thoughtfully rebuilt to achieve maximum amounts of storage space and living comfort and remarkable beauty.

Heavily constructed with fiberglass decks, cabin and 1" solid fiberglass laminate hull. Bulbous bow, fantail stern, round bottom with 5000 lb weighted keel. Keel extends below propellers for protection of running gear. Custom-built 1" stainless steel side rails and 1/2" chocks/cleats. Rugged construction on the exterior accented by a manageable amount of brightwork while the interior has gorgeous joinery, a thoughtful layout and remarkable comfort.

Broker's Comments

Every inch of this custom 49' conversion trawler was thoughtfully constructed for comfortable long-range cruising and living aboard, and she enjoyed a complete rebuild and the addition of new systems and equipment from 1992-2011. A viewer immediately recognizes that the exterior is ruggedly built to withstand rough seas and adverse weather. Its obvious foundation is a sturdy troller hull constructed to be a workhorse.

The surprise is inside! The interior is simply remarkable. It is a showcase of the marine carpenter's art, yet has a warm, inviting feel. Joinery is solid red oak with purpleheart-accents and must be seen to be appreciated. The wood was imported from South America and carefully crafted to standards that no mass manufacturer could duplicate. Every nook and cranny of the boat has been cleverly used for built-in storage with well constructed drawers, boxes or cedar-lined hanging lockers. All of the wiring is clearly labeled and cleanly installed with attention to detail that is immediately evident. A tremendous effort was made to ensure that every wiring connection is accessible for monitoring or maintenance, that mechanical systems are readily accessed, and that key maintenance areas are well-lit and roomy. The owners have even maintained a complete list of nearly every component or part used in its construction to make future maintenance straightforward. Their plan, after all, was to rely on this boat under all conditions for many more years. Now their change of plans (South Pacific!) necessitates sale.

This vessel is designed for smooth, fuel-efficient performance with economical and reliable twin diesel engines, a bulbous bow, and active fin stabilizers. There is simply too much to list - this boat has everything!
