Broker's Comments
Boatshed Cornwall are pleased to offer this very high specification, well-cared-for Classic Maurice Griffiths designed Golden Hind 31.
This Golden Hind was professionally built to a high standard in 1976 by Terry Erskine in Plymouth. She has had only two owners, last changing hands in 1999.
It was a pleasure to step aboard this classic yacht which was well presented, clean and tidy and appears to have been a result of many years of care and attention. The hull is GRP with solid mahogany coachroof sides and epoxy-sheathed ply decks.
This Golden Hind was the subject of a major refit around 2001 where an exhaustive list of work to all aspects of the boat was undertaken by professional tradesmen. Receipts for all the work undertaken are available to view. Since then further work has continued:
Renewed canvas work (2019),
Bilge keel plates grit-blasted and epoxied (2021)
Overall, this Golden Hind seemed to have a warm character about it. A layout that combined the classic craftsmanship using exposed wooden deck beams with a contemporary finish.
I really do recommend a viewing of this Golden Hind which is a credit to her current owners.
