This boat was designed and built as a world cruiser and has made voyages to Alaska as well as Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. It is turn key ready to go again.
The Sunnfjord 47 Pilothouse is a proven long range cruiser built in Tacoma Washington by a company well known for their successful commercial fishing boats. The hull, designed by Edwin Monk and used in a long line of commercial fishing boats, is heavy, hand laid fiberglass in a full displacement, single screw design. Round bilges provide efficient cruising and a Trac Hydraulic stabilizer system provides stability and comfort even in high seas.
A ten inch hydraulic bow thruster provides easy handling around the dock but with the large rudder the boat steers easily including while backing.
The hull is 47 feet on the water line and 52 feet overall with a beam of 14.5 feet, air draft of 28 feet and draft of 5.5 feet with a full keel and skeg protecting the prop and supporting the rudder.

Entrance to the boat is over the wide swim step through a gate in the transom. The cockpit area is fully enclosed in canvas and isenglas with the boat deck extending over the cockpit providing a dry, warm area that can be opened up into the main salon through a large, tinted sliding glass door. The main cabin is full width with hardwood parquet floor and loose furniture. A couch with folding bed is located to port and two leather chairs to starboard. The galley is forward to port on the same level and is part of the main salon area for conversation and socializing while preparing food.
The galley includes a full size refrigerator/freezer with a second, under counter refrigerator along the starboard side and a chest freezer located next to the couch.
Engine access is through a hatch in the salon floor. All the engine systems are accessible and it is possible to move all around the Cummins 6BT 5.9L engine in a clean environment.
A stair on the starboard side leads up to the pilothouse which features sliding doors on each side for deck access, a large seating area behind the helm and a pilot berth to the rear. From the pilothouse side doors, stairs lead up on either side to the boat deck where a Valco 14.5' skiff with 25HP Honda Four Stroke outboard fitted with navigation and fishing gear is stowed. The skiff can be lifted and launched with an aluminum boom crane fitted with an electric winch.
A stair on the starboard side leads down to the bow and master state rooms. The bow cabin has a "V" berth with two large singles and a hanging locker. The chain locker is no longer needed for anchor chain with the deck mounted cable drum anchor winch and so is used for additional storage.
The guest head is aft of the bow cabin in the hall way to the stairs and master suite. The guest head is set up for a shower but that is not being used in the present configuration. Both heads feature Vacuflush toilets with black water treatment by a Sealand MSD system.
Aft from the bow is the master suite with an island queen bed, closets, television and Haier clothes washer/dryer. An ensuite head includes a shower and small bath tub.
