Broker's Comments
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a vessel that is ripe for renovation or conversion to a multitude of uses before the she is cut up with chainsaws.... The cataraman construction provides a stable platform and huge amounts of open space. Built in 1972 for ferry operations in the Channel Islands this boat has seen active service as a passenger vessel for many years and sadly it was deemed uneconomical a few years ago to maintain her MCA classification and she was retired from service. She has until recently been laid-up afloat and the port side windows removed and shuttered. She has now been brought ashore for sale. A lot of equipment has been utilised for spares but the engines (much sought after Gardner 6LXB) and twin-disc gearboxes are still in place. If they were not needed they could be removed and could easily be sold for a good price. There is also a lot of stainless steel pipework that was part of the fire suppression system still onboard. Although it would be very unlikely she could now return to use as a ferry (NOTE: she is NOT MCA coded now) she would be perfect as a yacht club floating head-quarters, floating offices, marina offices or even for conversion to a superb and unique live-aboard. The shallow draft and twin hulls of course mean that she could take the ground very easily so berths should be easy to find. And what a lovely home or holiday home she would make – light airy and plenty of room! The price shown is inclusive of VAT at 20%. Please save her from the chainsaw gang.
