Engines feature a custom-built fresh water cooling system conversion (heat exchangers) with Caterpillar cooling manifolds; engines feature oil coolers. The actual hours on the engines is estimated at about 1,000 hours more than shown on the Hobbs meters due to a replacement of the meters previously.

Vosper Mini-Fin Stabilizers are gyro controlled and eliminate 90 percent of vessel roll permitting the transit of beam seas in heavy weather. Owner has a spare gyroscope plus other spares, and parts are readily available from England.

The main generator is an Onan 12 KW in a sound enclosure. A Dynamote 6.5 KW cruise generator runs off of the starboard engine, eliminating the need for use of the Onan generator when underway. A Freedom Marine 30 system provides a 3,000 watt inverter and 140 amp battery charger.

Two (2) new propellors carried as spares.

The Grand Banks 50 is a small ship designed for long distance cruising. Grand Banks pioneered the cruising trawler design and built the boats in wood in their Hong Kong shipyard from the late 1950s into the 1970s. The boats have held their value over time due to the excellent materials used and true craftsmanship in their construction.

Our boat has always been kept in a boathouse, and incorporates costly additional features designed for safety and reliability while cruising. Vosper Mini Fin stabilization was installed to provide for a comfortable ride in heavy weather beam seas. The twin Caterpillar 210 HP diesel engines were converted to fresh water cooling and oil coolers were added to prolong engine life. The Furuno radar reaches out 64 miles for safety. An expensive Nick Jackson transom lift for the 12' Zodiac makes shore transit easy compared to launching with a boom from an overhead deck. The layout for life aboard is ideal with covered decks, an expansive saloon and main deck, three private cabins with heads and showers on the lower deck, and an expansive flybridge deck with bimini and seating.

The boat is located in an ideal place for exploring US and Canadian waters or transiting the Inside Passage. The boathouse is available separately through the owner and moorage rights are transferable to the next owner-- a rare thing in many marinas today. This would be an ideal live-aboard or vacation home in the pristine Pacific Northwest.
