In 2009 a major refit included the replacement of the main engines, shafts, dripless shaft seals, propellors, and generators.
The vessel underwent repairs and upgrades in 2020 to include selective replacement of steel plating, anti-corrosion coating and painting, and system upgrades.
Coatings: coating scheme is by International. 1 ea epoxy tie coat, 3 coats epoxy primer, 3 coats two part urethane topcoat. The vessel successfully passed the USCG Annual Inspection in January 2020, and Drydock/Internal Structures Examinations in April 2020.

This is a day use commercial passenger ferry which does not include sleeping accommodations. It is designed for charter and passenger transportation service.

It is currently certified to carry 149 passengers, and requires a 100 ton rated Captain plus two non-credentialed Deckhands to operate. The boat could possibly be re-certified to carry more passengers, as it was carrying 380 when previously certified.

The vessel has an open two-deck layout with a wheelhouse on the upper deck. The main deck is enclosed and features a covered aft deck and a stairway to the upper deck. This deck is enclosed by a canvas top and side curtains. A wet bar is located in the forward area with a large freezer. The foredeck and wheelhouse can be accessed from this covered space through doors at the forward end.

The main cabin and wheelhouse are heated using a diesel boiler with hydronic heat exchangers and fans in these spaces to provide forced air heat. The wheelhouse also has a single electric heater.

Four marine head compartments are onboard, but these are not currently operational.
