Inspected by one of the Pacific Northwest's expert surveyors for wooden vessels in 2017, his findings were addressed by the classic shipwrights at University Boat Works in a year-plus refit project.

The surveyor was recalled for follow up after the restoration for a final inspection. His remarks are noted below:
"During this period of time (2017-2018) I made numerous inspections, consultations regarding on-going repairs/restoration activities. At the end of the day, good and careful workmanship was evident. Replacement materials were found to be comparable if not better in quality to that replaced with repairs and construction details if not better in strength and quality to those replaced."

Typical Chris Craft construction for this period is of mahogany planking, plywood and mahogany cabin structure, canvas over plywood decking.

Fuel, water, and waste tank capacities are estimated per survey.
- Monel fuel and water tanks.
- Poly holding tank.

Length overall for moorage purposes is 39 feet.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature.

Fine workmanship and classic touches jump out as you inspect this boat. The layout is ideal for day cruising, overnighting, and entertaining.

Enter the aft cockpit where folding steps port and starboard make access easy. Aft is a full beam cushioned settee with lovely new upholstery in the B&W design theme of the vessel. The area featured teak decking and an access hatch to the hull below decks. The propane locker is located beneath the settee.

Moving forward a mahogany door to starboard provides access to the sedan interior. To port from the door are two large windows for excellent visibility aft from the helm.

Entering the cabin the space is open, with a black hinged dining table to starboard with two chairs. Opposite is a sofa with the same upholstery theme which would make for a comfortable berth. Forward to port is the helm. A fine commercial grade black leather helm seat is installed. The helm station is authentic, with original instrumentation and controls, yet with modern navigation systems.

Moving forward and down a step leads to the forward area. To port is the enclosed marine toilet compartment in the original configuration. To starboard is the galley area. This features a modern propane cooktop in black set in a large black formica countertop, an electric broiler oven, commercial style stainless steel refrigerator, a small sink and a microwave oven.

Forward next is the double cabin. Again, this is configured as originally designed with upper and lower single berthing to starboard. Across from this is an upholstered seating area. Forward all the way is the anchor locker.

Interior features include:
- Original electric cabin lighting fixtures;
- Louvered blinds
- Princess LPG cooktop;
- Isotherm electric refrigerator;
- Toaster oven and coffee maker;
- Microwave oven;
- 11 Gallon Hot Water Heater;

Broker's Comments

Currently this seller is a two boat owner and very anxious to get back to just one. They have decided that a sailboat is what they prefer..

This classic yacht from Chris Craft was built 70 years ago yet shines like a new boat today following an extensive structural refit in 2017-2018 and the installation of modern electrical and electronic systems.

The work included replacement of wood structural components and a complete refastening of the underbody with over 2,000 new silicon bronze wood screws. The hull topsides were prepared and finished with marine paint and underneath new anti-fouling coatings applied.

Beyond the structural restoration, the owner upgraded the boat with style and purpose. Marine grade electrical wiring, marine electrical panels, new batteries and electrical systems were installed. There's a 1500 watt inverter for electrical power away from the dock. A new marine propane cooktop and refrigerator were installed. New upholstery was themed in B&W to match the black and white exterior colors. The mahogany gleams against the clean color scheme.

The original Chevy 327 V-8 engine runs strong. These engines are notably smooth in acceleration for boats, a pleasure to operate, and inexpensive to maintain compared to diesel and other complex gasoline engines.

This boat is a standout, and one that you can be proud to operate and enjoy with others. It has always been kept in covered fresh water moorage which is transferrable to the next owner. I don't think that this one will be long on the market, so reach out to me for a personal showing now.
